Hello everyone, good afternoon and welcome once again to Tottenham News Shorts, quick bits of bitesize news surrounding Tottenham and or the glorious game of football, soccer to some.
Right let's get into the Tottenham News Shorts - Issue 34, recent news which concerns William Carvalho, Danny Rose, Nikola Vlašić and Maauricio Pochettino.
Arsenal will have to pay at least £24 million (€30.29m) up front to sign 22-year-old Sporting (formerly Sporting Lisbon) midfielder William Carvalho. Sporting want £35 million (€44.18m) for the Portuguese defensive midfielder with a large chunk up front.
Arsenal had hoped to sign Sami Khedira but his £150,000 (€189,330) a week wage demands are proving a stumbling block. Their highest earners are on £140,000 (€176,707) a week so paying the German World Cup winner more would see wage increase demands from other top earners at the club.
Morgan Schneiderlin wants to reunite with Mauricio Pochettino rather than join Arsenal so that has left the Gunners looking elsewhere. He has a contract until 2018 but Arsenal are unlikely to want to pay the buyout clause amount though.
Hull City are ready to pay £6 million (€7.57m) for Tottenham left-back Danny Rose. Steve Bruce is stepping up his bid to make Tottenham left-back Danny Rose his fourth summer signing for Hull and to add to his Spurs contingent. He would also like to sign Tottenham captain Michael Dawson who is due a testimonial at Spurs next season.
With Ben Davies imminent arrival Rose is though to be less than happy at the prospect of not being first choice left-back.
Tottenham are trying to buy the latest 'new Luka Modric' - Hajduk Split teenage attacking midfielder Nikola Vlašić. He is the latest in a line of starlets who is also being watched by Chelsea and Real Madrid.
The young right winger has a contract until 2016 and may be available for around £3 million (€3.79m) although Hajduk Split will try to get around £6 million (€7.57m) for him. Additionally he can play in a central attacking midfield role.
He is just 16 and playing first team football. Tottenham scouts watched him last week playing in Ireland against Dundalk in the Europa League. Hajduk Split won 2-0 and Vlašić had a hand in the first goal. He was set free down the right flank and sent over a perfect cross to the head of Mijo Caktaš, who nodded the ball home. Then he wrapped things up by scoring the second when he ghosted in behind his marker to power home from a cross.
Buying now and loaning back will allow Spurs to groom him as a home grown player, the qualification being a player will have had to be registered for at least three seasons (36 months) at an English or Welsh club between the ages of 16 and 21 (or the end of the season during which he turns 21).

A - "It was unbelievable. I want to say thank you for the supporters. Yesterday and today they made the effort to come here to see us and I want to thank them."
Q - Did Spurs accomplish what they wanted to from the Seattle game?
A - "Yes. I want to congratulate our players because the conditions to play were very difficult. It was warm, a different field (surface) and a very good team. It was a good performance because for us it was only one training moment."
