Tottenham were completely outplayed by Liverpool who could have scored 5 or 6 while Spurs didn't take the few chances they created.

Tottenham could be seeing Lewis Holtby, Aaron Lennon, Sandro, Zeki Fryers and Benoit Assou-Ekotto leave today whether in transfers or loans.
Harry Redknapp loves a loan deal and he is looking to take Aaron Lennon and Sandro to Queens Park Rangers. Loan deals however, while moving players for a season do little to help Tottenham, we still then have to sell players next summer before we can buy and the players values would have gone down.
That has to be weighed up on transfer deadline day to decide how low a bid to accept. Tottenham need to take a look at their contracts and decide their value next summer, add a couple of million on and seek a little higher fee. Buying clubs know the situation so are unlikely to come in with much higher offers.
Aaron Lennon has a contract until 2016 so would only have one year left next season, that reduces his transfer value to it's lowest point. While transfermarkt value him at £10.56 million ($17.52m - €13.35m) now, that may well sink to £6 million ($9.96m - €7.59m) next summer when he would be 28.
Sandro they value at £9.68 million ($16.06m - €12.24m) and his contract also ends in 2016 when he will be 26. Napoli were said to be willing to offer £8.70 million ($14.44m - €11m) which would be close to next summers price. They have failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League so now have a reduced transfer budget.
That deal is not dead but Daniel Levy would have to let him go cheaply to see it go through. QPR can not take both players on loan, it would breach regulations so one would have to be bought. But QPR are not the only clubs circling, Lennon has other English Premier League suitors including West Ham United while several Italian clubs have been interested in Sandro.
Lewis Holtby is having a medical at Hamburg today so looks certain to leave, he is a player who runs around a lot but take that out of his game and there is not a great deal of end product. Sentimental fans want to keep him but he doesn't look as if he would ever push for a starting place above others and he wants to be playing football. That has fuelled efforts to move back to the Beunesliga.
Zeki Fryers has not progressed as hoped. He is now 21, will be 22 in September and is a mile behind Eric Dier 20 or DeAndre Yedlin 21 in development. Also with Milos Veljkovic, 18, developing their seems little chance of him getting enough opportunities to significantly improve his game. He is having a medical at Crystal Palace today ahead of a £3 million ($4.98m - €3.79m) move.
If that is the type of player Crystal Palace want I can see why Tony Pulis left. Palace still need to build a team to keep them in the division, players like Fryers should be in addition to that team. If he is to play he will need to learn fast because if they buy too many who need to improve then they will go down.
For the first two years at Premier League level it is about survival and your purchases reflect that, you need experience. When you have established yourselves other players trust your chances of staying up more and are therefore more likely to come to you. That is when you start buying the players with potential and mix them with the experienced guys. Once they have improved you can bring in more. It's a building process similar to the one Hull City have been undertaking.
It has been quiet all summer over 30-year-old left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto who has a year left on his contract but no future at Tottenham. He has been offered on a free transfer to get his wages off the bill and surprisingly so far there have been no takers. You would have thought someone like Crystal palace would take him but I suppose wages would be the issue.
Spurs will have their fingers crossed that someone does take him, they won't want to have to pay the wages of a player who is not going to be in the 25 man Premier League Squad.
