Video Highlights - Spurs live dangerously

Tottenham recorded their third win in a row in the Premier League and the fifth game in nine games. It was not straight forward however.

Video Highlights - Spurs live dangerously

For the opening 30 minutes Spurs were playing some superb passing football creating plenty of chances. They started by opening the scoring after just one minute from a counter attack. The ball was played wide to Nacer Chadli who crossed along the floor to the edge of the six yard box. It was a poor cross and should have been easily dealt with but Harry Kane had other ideas. He nipped in front of the defender nudged the ball past him and turned to bury his left foot shot.

It was the ideal start but the lack of clinical finishing I have been talking about reared it's ugly head again. The game should have been won in that period but the final ball was not good enough and or the defenders were throwing themselves in front of every shot.

Leicester got back into the game in the last quarter of an hour creating chances of their own that with better finishing would have seen them level at half-time. Our frequent slow start to a half came to the fore and it took Leicester 3 minutes to equalise. From here on it was Leicester who were creating the majority of chances but again they failed to convert their chances.

Christian Eriksen put Spurs back in front when he took a free-kick and caught their keeper out at the near post, when he was looking for a cross. Quite frankly he should still never have been beaten there from that distance. Once again Leicester played well and can be said to be unlucky.

The sign of a good side is they win when they don't play well and for periods in this game Tottenham had to dig in. The cover for the defence wasn't good enough, Stambouli doesn't look up to scratch to me and Bentaleb is going through a poor period with his passing. He gave the ball away too often, just as he did in the last game, he can't do that in the next two, Manchester United and Chelsea.
