When are the Italians gonna give it a rest?

We though Leandro Damiao was a saga that went on and on and on but the Italians go way behind a few transfer windows with their transfer sagas.

The latest is the suggestion of a swap deal between Aaron Lennon and the player that has been the subject of more transfer speculation since he joined Inter Milan in 2012 than any other, Fredy Guarin.

The Italian press have linked him with clubs all over the world since then and constantly told us he isn't wanted at Inter. The deal they had to sell him to Juventus fell through when fans protested against the deal.

The 28-year-old gets linked with us by them every window. He is now probably too old, his wages too high and his transfer fee is not one have been interested in, nor has anyone else. He has been valued by the Italians as a £16 million player previously but is probably not worth more than £12 million and with each year passing that reduces, the nearer he gets to 30.

He was bought by Inter from Porto for £9.68 million and has only played 596 minutes of Serie A football this season. It seems if Inter want a deal for any player then Guarin gets mentioned as a makeweight and the stories are getting tiresome.

The press have told us for over a year that Manchester United want him, well they have had ample opportunity to buy him and haven't bothered. If Inter want a player they offer Guarin in return, they seem to be keen to get rid of him at a profit before his value disappears in a years time. He'll be 29 before the start of next season, then the following summer you can take £8-10 million of his valuation so to pay any sort of large fee now is not good business sense.

Tottenham players are hard to shift, it seems the Italians have the same problems.
