Fenerbahçe director has been to London for Kaboul

Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Younès Kaboul is a wanted man in Turkey, fortunately only for his football though.

Turkish club Fenerbahçe are in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League and President Aziz Yildirim has a shopping list of players to strengthen his side. He and Technical Director Vítor Pereira have made trips to London to conduct the initial negotiations and a further trip for Pereira is planned.

That shopping list includes 22-year-old Mohamed Salah and 28-year-old John Obi Mikel from Chelsea, 28-year-old Nani and 21-year-old Robin van Persie from Manchester United and finally from Tottenham, 29-year-old captain Younès Kaboul.

Of those the Turkish press are reporting that Mohaned Salah is thought by former Portuguese international Pereira to be a very difficult signature to secure. They are keen however to tie up some of their targets as soon as possible. Fenerbahçe initially offered £3.26 million (US$5.07m - AUS$6.55m - €4.5m and are of the impression that a deal reached.

To that end Kaboul, who has a Moroccan descent, might seem an easy option but Fenerbahçe are not the only side interested in him, although Turkish reports suggest he, or his representatives, have contacted Fenerbahçe to initiate a move.

They face competition from Premier League sides looking for an experienced centre-back, Watford have already made enquiries, from Italy and also from their Turkish rivals Galatasaray.

New West Ham United manager Slaven Bilić is a Kaboul fan, he tried to sign him for Beşiktaş in January, maybe he'll end up across London.
