Lloris fit for Man Utd opener

Every man and his dog have told you that Hugo Lloris has fractured his wrist and may well miss the start of the season, that a potential move to Manchester United has therefore collapsed.

If Manchester United wanted to buy him they will still try, a broken wrist isn't going to make a blind bit of difference, it is not a long-term major injury but a small minor one. Real Madrid also have Hugo Lloris as their second choice after David de Gea should they not prise him away from Manchester United.

United have of course issued a demand that Real either buy him now or never because they want time to chase Lloris through the press and agents etc, they want to be able to apply the pressure that Real normally apply on others and we know all about that.

By all accounts, De Gea wants to go and why wouldn't he, they are arguably the most glamorous club in the world. Would that be good news for Spurs, well in a funny way yes because if Real Madrid came calling for Hugo Lloris we would find it very hard to stand in his way, we can't compete with the pull of a Galacticos side.

French journalist Julien Laurens, who is based in London and works for Le Parisien, RTL, BT Sport and ESPN, reveals that Hugo Lloris will be ready for the start of the season, he is doing his fitness work and broke a minor bone three weeks ago.

Lloris only fractured a minor bone of his wrist three weeks ago. He still did all his fitness preparation for the season and will be ready.

L'Equipe have the same view.

L'Equipe: WILL be fit for season opener v despite wrist fracture.

Bone breakages in the wrist take six to eight weeks to heal in adults so he may well be ready for the season opener against Manchester United.
