Werner & Kramer

Tottenham are desperate to get rid of Emmanuel Adebayor and everything has been sorted with Aston Villa and Adebayor, or at least his representatives. The Togo international has been around the training facilities and is keen to reunite with Tim Sherwood.

He will be gone shortly and the club are working on bringing in two more players before the Audi Cup in Germany on 5 and 5 August. The two positions being heavily worked on are central midfield and striker. We are trying to secure two players from Germany, 19-year-old (20 next March) striker Timo Werner, for which the signs are encouraging and 24-year-old (25 next February) Christoph Kramer.

Kramer won the World Cup with Germany, although he has to go off with concussion and Kramer is expected to be the next star striker of German football. While Stuttgart would like to keep Werner it is believed a deal can be done and discussions continue.

As for Kramer well it was thought to be extremely difficult to prise him away from Bayer Leverkusen but Tottenham have been encouraged and there is now hope that this deal can be achieved.

The buying is not yet complete and ultimately players will decide when they leave if they leave, not a buying club. Simply because Spurs want to buy a player doesn't mean he has to immediately sign as some fans seem to think. Football transfers are a far more complicated affair than buying a newspaper and players often wait to see what offers will come in before making a decision.
