Dzeko - Liverpool, Everton or Galatasaray

One time Tottenham target and for mer Manchester City and Wolfsburg striker Edin Džeko looks to be on the move again after only a year in Italy that didn't go especially well.

Liverpool and Everton are said to be battling it our for his signature according to the British press. According to the Italian press he is almost certain to go to Turkey.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina striker was sent on loan by Manchester City to Roma for £3 million (€3.93m - US$7.72m - AUS$6.10m). Roma had a guaranteed buy clause in his contract, a method used to get around Financial Fair Play rules and therefore the Italian club will have bought him on 1 July 2016 for £8.25 million (€10.82m - US$12.04m - AUS$16.78m).

His agent, Irfan Redzepagic, has meet with Galatasaray Football Director Cenk Ergün iat the UEFA Champions League Final and both parties were happy with the outcome of the initial talks report TMW. They say further talks are planned this time between Galatasaray and Roma.

Ergün has publicly stated he wants Dzeko at Galatasaray and the club are trying to negotiate a one year loan deal with a purchase next simmer, a similar deal to the one Roma had with Manchester City. Reports from the Turkish media confirm these talks have taken place and that Dzeko to Turkey is a very real possibility.

While it may not be a top tier European league the tax situation in Turkey makes it attractive for millionaires. Dzeko has a contract, or will have on 1 July until 2020 but as he flopped in Italy they are more than happy to let him go.

The chairman of Galatasaray, Dursun Özbek, will try to negotiate the fee down from £11.25 million (€14.75m - US$19.76m - AUS$22.88m) total Roma have to pay Manchester City. The fee could be a problem as Turkish sides are not known to pay high transfer fees generally.
