Christian Eriksen

Being only a matter of time before Christian Eriksen signs a new contract according to manager Mauricio Pochettino, the Danish international has reassured Tottenham fans that he is happy at the club.

"Even yesterday I was sitting there thinking it’s my fourth season now so it’s been a good ride, it still is and I enjoy every moment.”

The Dane has perhaps not made the best of starts to the season and was substituted on Saturday. That is quite normal however as Pochettino manages the game time of players to ensure against being overworked and fatigue causing injury, as was the case with Hugo Lloris.

Throughout last season the midfielders were taken off after 60 minutes or rested on the bench and brought on for the last half an hour. It may be early in the season but that management has to start from the beginning, internationals have to be taken into account and games coming up. We'll soon be in a bust period where these short rests will help players stay of of the red danger zone, when he is considered most at risk of an injury.

It is all part and parcel of the new scientific approach that is dismissed by former players who never experienced it. That also shows how player are conditioned by what they do, their minds are closed to new thinking. That was exactly the case with Adebayor, Kaboue, Capoe, Lennon and it is seen within fans all the time on forums.

That sort of closed mind mentality is restrictive, it limits what you can achieve. If you want to achieve something new, something others don't expect, you have to have an open mind, you have to be able to see, dream and chase those dreams, which you'll only do if you believe in them totally.
