I delved into a forum, well it's better than watching Arsenal, to see what was under discussion and striker targets was all the talk, I say all the talk, there wasn't much talk at all.

First up I saw Wilfried Zaha, Isco and Moussa Dembele. Then came the usual comment that we cocked up the signing of Dembele as usual, which of course we didn't, he just chose another club for first team football to continue his development as someone also pointed out.

Isco is reported to be interested in signing a new contract at Real Madrid now and e would have to fight off Manchester City and Chelsea for him as well as Juventus and Barcelona, so signing him looks highly unlikely.

Wilfried Zaha does seem to have taken his game to another level, at last, perhaps he has now got his head in gear and knuckled down. Big Sam does the usual managers bit, it'll cost a fortune to get him, we won't sell him. If you weren't going to sell him you wouldn't suggest it would take a big price, that is simply saying, he is for sale.

Justin Kluivert was suggested but he is a 17-year-old (18 in May) and is a couple of years away from being ready yet, despite this being his breakthrough season in Holland for Ajax. The young right winger is the son of Patrick, former Duch international and UEFA Champions League winner is now sporting director of PSG.

Marcus Rashford was next, but Jose Mourinho's comments after the beating of Chelsea would suggest he isn't going anywhere soon. Mourinho commented that the 19-year-old (20 in October) had played 2,436 minutes this season in a variety of positions in different systems which is absolutely fantastic for his development. I don't see him being made available at all.

Daniel Sturridge naturally popped up but he is too old (27-year-old - 28 in September), too injury prone and doesn't like working for the team. Jurgen Klopp plays a pressing game and by all accounts, Sturridge doesn't want to press. He is a greedy player who doesn't like passing the ball, that fine if you are Gazza, but he isn't. How would his injuries stand up to our training? If Klopp doesn't like him in their pressing system, how is he going to fit into our pressing system? You have to look at the whole picture, not just can he score goals.

Inevitably we then came to the Spurs Academy and the suggestion of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Kyle Walker-Peters, Marcus Edwards and Kazaiah Sterling. Of those Cameron Carter-Vickers will have more of a role to play next season you would expect, but Edwards and Sterling are not first team players yet, both will need another year at last. Kyle Walker-Peters has Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier ahead of him so opportunities ar few and far between.
