Angel do Maria tax fraud, Seri, Alexis Sanchez news

TRANSFER TALK

Argentinian international winger Angel Di Maria has been handed a suspended jail sentence after admitting to tax fraud at Real Madrid. The 29-year-old (30 next February) PSG player will pay a fine of £1.76 million (€2m) to avoid prison. He defrauded the authorities of £1.14m (€1.3m) between 2010 and 2014.

Italian side AS Roma are stepping up their efforts to sign 25-year-old (26 in July) Ivorian midfielder Jean-Michael Seri from Nice, according to L’Equipe. The thought is that they are going to come back with a third bid after the first two ere rejected.

Arsenal are trying to throw money, £275,000-a-week, at 28-year-old (29 in September) Chilean international (he has 108 full international caps scoring 37 goals) Alexis Sanchez to keep him. However, with only UEFA Europa League football to offer they are fighting a losing battle.

Players of his calibre want UEFA Champions League football and nothing else. Bayern Munich want him to replace Juventus bound Douglas Costa and offered him £350,000-a-week. Manchester City and PSG also want his services.
